Upcycled Harbour & Hills Crafty Gin Glass. WHY OUR UPCYCLED GLASSES? Back in 2017 we started our upcycling journey, experimenting turning waste bottles which were far too beautiful to throw away, into glasses. in 2019 Sam & Leah, founded SmoothEdge & started selling on Etsy & have since built over 250 5 star reviews. Glass Waste Even though glass is recyclable, currently in the U.K it is thought that up to 50% of the U.K’s glass bottles end up in landfill each year & across the world. It is also estimated there is an equivalent of the Empire state building worth of glass ending up in landfill every 3 weeks. As glass does not decompose, it will remain in landfills forever, taking up unnecessary space. We source our bottles from local bars, pubs, & companies, taking waste bottles & turning them into glasses. Sustainability Credentials Our particular technique of upcycling glasses comes with a Co2 equivalent footprint of over 30 times better than buying a brand new, factory made glass. Your Support With each purchase of a glass you’re helping to support an eco-friendly lifestyle & a charity called keep Britain tidy. SmoothEdge is donating 5% of its annual (2022 - 2023) net profits to keep Britain tidy. 5% DONATED TO CHARITY: SmoothEdge is donating 5% of its annual (2022 - 2023) net profits to a charity called; keep Britain tidy - a charity that inspires people to end waste for now & future generations.
