Vintage mid century steel pigeonhole shelf unit in original factory grey paint, made in the 1970’s, probably, originally for use in a workshop or factory. 42 cubby holes in 7 rows of six. A wine bottle easily fits in each section; even a rather fatter bottle would. There is an upstand of 3cm at the front of each shelf, to stop things from falling out; ideal for the neck of a bottle. Could maybe work as a shoe rack too. Obviously plenty of other possible uses. Condition is fair; structurally it’s sound though a little battered in places. Some of the vertical dividers are a bit bent as they’re thin, whilst the horizontal shelves are fine. Cosmetically it’s quite rusty in places, especially at the bottom (and underneath; that’s the really rusty one in the pics), but it’s just powdery rust which hasn’t become structural. We’ve cleaned it up somewhat but it could be sealed in with varnish or finishing oil if it’s an issue. Generally it’s an interesting looking & useful piece. Dimensions: 86cm x 30cm x 107cm high (single hole: 13.5cm wide x 30cm deep; height 14cm, behind the 3cm upstand; top & bottom rows are a bit higher) Vintage Mid Century Grey Metal Pigeonholes Shelves Good For Wine Rack
