Slate Handmade Cornish Tin mine Engine House Fridge Magnet. Natural Slate that has been upcycled & repurposed. Something new out of something old. Each individual slate Cornish Engine House Fridge Magnet has been carefully handmade using reclaimed slate from the roof of a centuries old barn that is on my parents Cornish farm which sits in the heart of the tin mining area overlooking many of the magnificent historic engine houses still standing proudly today, they are haunting reminders of our local heritage & of a time gone by & most likely the inspiration for Winston Graham’s beloved Poldark. Each house has its own individual identity due to the varying colours, thickness & patination of each unique slate so no two will ever be exactly the same, each house has a magnet stuck on the back for displaying on fridges etc. I have included a photo of a natural slate before the engine house has been cut out to illustrate the start of the process. The windows, door & chimney lines have been hand engraved & the chimneys are shaded. I have added a photo of a group of engine houses to try & show how each one is unique but this listing is for one magnet only. Please see the photos to give you an idea of size but be aware they are intended as a guide only & each magnet will differ slightly as they are handmade. Upcycled Slate Fridge Magnet.
