These Banksia fridge magnets are handcrafted in Sydney, Australia using Banksia nut wood & have an Australian half penny coin embedded into the top. The coins have been in circulation & feature the kangaroo & mint year ranging from 1938 to 1964. The year you will receive will be random between these dates. They are between 6 & 7.5 cm or 2 1/2 to 3 in diameter & 1 cm thick. They are finished in a low sheen satin wood lacquer. As all Banksia nuts are different what you receive will be unique & a one off. There are over 500 varieties of Banksia. I use Banksia Grandis in these pieces. The Grandis is the largest sized nut & only grows in Western Australia. There will be a colour information card included which will explain more about the wood & how the tree looks. ( image with photos) Also there is a picture of three banksia nuts to show how they look before I use them.( image with photos) We ship all over the world & take extra caution to pack all of our products with care & passion. Shipping is free to your door with a tracking number. We only use burl & banksia wood in our products as both are a renewable resource. No tree will ever be damaged or destroyed when harvesting our wood. My name is Brad Purcell & I have been making handcrafted wooden art for over 30 years. All pieces for sale are handmade by me in my local workshop using techniques & skills refined over the decades. I started this business in my garage, & it grew & grew until it became my full time job. I have had a stall at Sydney’s Rocks Market for over 20 years & now I want to sell my one of a kind art to a wider audience. All pieces are unique & slightly differ in their design, shape, & size.
