Technical Description A very fine early 19th-century glass rummer with an ovoid bowl above a capstan stem & lemon squeezer square foot. The bowl has been engraved with ‘SPEED THE PLOUGH with a shield containing farming tools & a plough. Glasses proclaiming success to the farming industry are quite rare & this is only the 2nd Speed The Plough example we have can in the last 3 years. Date & Origin England, c1800. Period of George III.
