To avoid disappointment, please note that these rugs are lovely & as soft as sheep but not as soft as sheepskin rugs which are treated with strong chemicals to soften the wool. As with all hand-crafted carpets, the edges of the flokatis are never exactly straight. Due to the long fibres on this product, not recommended for babies. Please note that as these items are authentic handicrafts, some shedding of wool is inevitable & can be minimised by regular vacuuming using your machine’s nozzle attachment. Be aware before purchase. Cleaning & washing your flokati rug Flokati rugs are highly resistant to dirt & stains. Cleaning flokatis is very simple although larger rugs can be a challenge. Dirt & dust do not cling to flokati wool fibres. If your flokati is not very dirty, shake & brush it. You can also use the nozzle end of your vacuum cleaner but do not use the rotating brush. If more dirty, after shaking, hand-wash using the mildest of wool detergent in very small quantities, in cold or lukewarm water.
