Typically, they give the viewer the impression of movement, hidden images, flashing & vibrating patterns or of swelling & warping. Victor Vasarely & Josef Albers were early artists in this genre. The machine quilting is sensitively done, deferring to the graphic design & not overwhelming it. Care of your quilt: Wash in cool water (no bleach). Do not let it sit wet. Gently shake out the quilt before putting it in the dryer. Dry at a low temperature. It is a good idea to periodically take the quilt out of the dryer & adjust it so it dries evenly. If used as a wall hanging, it needs only occasional vacuuming.
