This doormat is made from Coir which comes from the coconuts. Material is durable & perfect for the entrance giving a natural rustic look. Our doormats are hand painted with professional high performance paint, our paint is designed to resist abrasion, prevent corrosion & retain its color in the toughest environments.. Although our painted design is super durable, the coir mat itself will wear down with normal use & become fuzzy. Decorative mats are not mean for heavy use. Some shedding may occur in the beginning as you break in the doormat. We recommend using coir doormats in covered areas where they will stay dry from the elements.
