When our shipping label is printed, our items are taken to the Post Office. The Tracking that is provided from Etsy is not 100% reliable. It is an Intelligent Mail Barcode that is generated by Pitney Bowes, but it is not an actual tracking number that is used for packages or priority mail. It provides a type of general tracing however, it is not 100% accurate as far as timing because it is not always scanned at each destination it arrives at. We use this versus a normal postage stamp because it will give us some idea, even if it’s not 100% accurate, of where the package is - whereas if we use a postage stamp, we have no idea of where the package could have gone.
