The steel used is hot rolled, which has a black/grey appearance. I do my best to keep the grind marks to a minimum so it keeps the colour consistent throughout. Once the metal work is complete we clean the steel with a degreaser & finish with a clear lacquer which darkens the steel slightly & adds a layer of protection. Imperfections in the steel will be visible due to using a clear coat but this all adds to the character of each individual unit.
