This was commissioned in the mid 20th century as an exhibition piece & educational tool by the British Government to demonstrate farming & agricultural systems in schools. It is an accurate 1:12 scale model of a Swing-Head Plough first used in England during the 1700’s. Entirely hand-made & an absolute one-of-a-kind item housed within an acrylic case on a solid wooden platform. It has been been permanently protected by the case & kept in a Government’s storage facility for the last 50 years, hence its condition is very, very good. It would make the perfect gift for anyone in the agricultural machinery industry or for collectors of primitive Shaker style miniatures.
