They were decorated with 2 different underglazes using a technique called bubble glazing created by making bubbles with the glazes & hand layering the bubbles on the bisqued pieces. Then they are fired a second time, then glazed with a clear glaze & fired a third, final time, at 2300 degrees. They are durable, yet elegant. They can handle every day use & still be suitable for special occasions. The bowls nest nicely inside each other & each have a defined foot & even walls which end in a fine rim. They are food safe, dishwasher safe & microwave safe.
