A ceramic jelly mould in wonderful condition, formed in an oval shape. The jelly-mould is made of stoneware ceramic in a light, biscuit-toned colour, & finished with a high-shine glaze. is medium-sized, & is formed into ridges which gleam as they catch the light. The dish is deeply scooped, designed to make high jellies. The liquid would be poured into the mould, then the item is set in the fridge to cool. Afterwards the contents is turned out onto a plate. Ceramic jelly moulds have also gained popularity as holders for poured-wax candles, as the interior looks striking filled with wax & a flame. Alternatively, the deep dish means they can be used as an excellent hold-all for keys & trinkets… especially in the kitchen! Measurements… Height: approx 8cm Length: approx 20.5cm Width: approx 14.5cm The mould is in great condition with no notable signs of age, & is most likely to date from the late Victorian - early Edwardian era (around 1900).
